We’re committed to building a strong community in Medicine Hat, through the development of Coulee Ridge and by supporting local causes and community groups. We’ve expanded upon last year’s Community Builder program, to encourage others to get involved, and use our platform to get more attention and donations to these important causes.

Every three months, Chat 94.5 and Coulee Ridge will be announcing a new non-profit that we’ll support in fundraising, with Coulee Ridge matching donations over the three-month period up to $2,000. We’re thrilled to have started fundraising with local charity, KidSport Medicine Hat & Redcliff.

KidSport Medicine Hat started in 1997 when it was noticed that there was a need for help with covering sports registration. KidSport offers registration fee grants of up to $300 per kid/year, for kids who live in Medicine Hat & Redcliff so they can participate in sports and recreation activities.

Every year, KidSport sees anywhere from 160 to 270 children qualifying for and benefitting from their grants every year. In 2021, $44,376.58 was granted to kids in Medicine Hat and Redcliff, allowing them to play a season.

So far we’ve raised $500 for KidSport! We are challenging other Med Hatters to donate to KidSport so we can maximize our donations for such a great cause. You can donate through the KidSport website or by sending an e-transfer to medicinehat@kidsport.ab.ca.
